I read somethere that you could change the default for new shortcuts to stop inserting "Shortcut to" in their names. Can someone help me find that?

Open regedit, and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

    Highlight 'Explorer'

In the right window, right-click the value Link and select Modify.

At the point where the blinking cursor appears, type eight zeros, which will automatically be formatted like this: 00 00 00 00. Then click OK.

    Good luck,
