You (@manager) shared a great solution with us to disable or enable the SMB1 protocol. I'm trying to setup a nightly cron/task event using a batch program for backing up to an iOmega iX4 200d NAS box. It is out of support and the firmware only uses SMB1 but Windows 10 has replaced SMB1 with SMB2 for security reasons which is understandable. I'm assuming that I should make sure I only run SMB2 for security purposes most of the up-time of my desktop and only use SMB1 for a temporary time every day.

You posted the following code and works great, except that Windows 10 requires a reboot after each flip of the SMB1 Protocol. I can do some clever tweaking of my backup routine with rebooting into the backup and reboot at the end after turning it back off.

However, is there a way to accomplish this without reboots?

REM **************************************************************
REM * COMMAND LINE SCRIPTS TO ENABLE/DISABLE SMB1 *
REM **************************************************************
REM (Check status SMB1)
REM Dism /online /Get-Features /format:table | find "SMB1Protocol"

REM (Enable SMB1)
REM Dism /online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:"SMB1Protocol" -All

REM (Disable SMB1)
REM Dism /online /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:"SMB1Protocol"

As this is your first post did you post the previous thread under a different username? If so, please advise so I can merge the accounts together as we don't allow more than one account. Thank you.

This is my first post and only have one username on techguy. I quoted someone with username manager which provided help for my problem on a previous thread. I'm only looking for any additional wisdom on the same topic regarding SMB1/2.
