I'm a new MS Excel user. How do I rename column headings? For example, I want to call Column A "Name", Column B "Address" etc...

Have you tried clicking on the help icon in the menu.... I find that those help things really do help.

You can't rename columns, you have to create your table within the cells.
So put in Cell A1 = Name; Cell B1 = Address
These are now your fields, and your data beneath these fields (or columns).

Think of the column letters and the row numbers as your basic reference, like longitude & latitude for maps, or ruler measurements for any other document, you wouldn't rename your centimetres along your piece of paper - you just write on it.

Just to add to that: once your labels are in place (Cell A1 = Name; Cell B1 = Address, etc.) you can select A2 and then choose "Freeze Panes" from the Window menu.

That way, row 1 will be locked at the top of the screen so you can always see the labels however far down the worksheet you go.
