    windows is giving an error?

if its indeed a bootable cd, windows should not be involved at all.
go to your bios and make sure the cd drive is set to load before the hard drive.

To boot the disk, restart your computer

when you restrart your computer, there is usually a message saying to press, F1, or F2, or DEL.(depends from system to system)

When you press whichever key it is, it goes to a menu
Find the area that has the boot order, and do what I said earlier.
