What's up everybody??? Its good to be part of the Board!

Well...to start I have had this problem for over a week now and Im really losing hope...

    Here are the facts:

    1. I have NO sound from speakers, NO drag and Drop, UNABLE to paste from a copy...so I cant get all my important files OFF my computer to reformat...

    2. IE doesn't open as well as Norton Antivirus, Or System Restore or System Installer, AVG wont launch due to installer problem...

    3. Ran Regedit to erase some files...but cant run SR.INF or anything since I dont have service pack 2 disc on me right now...

    4. Spybot scans for a while then reboots my computer...

    5. I've used everything from Avira to Spybot, Hijack This to Spyware Terminator, AVG...etc...with Avira mainly doing the most good in identifying files...

So if there is ANYONE out there who can help...I would greatly appreciate it!

    Thanks!!!

Put the hard drive in another computer as a slave drive and move your files to an external drive, DVD or a folder in the other pc.. then put the drive back, format, re-install Windows, your programs etc and move the files back.. keep in mind you won't be able to transfer programs due to registry keys not being moved.. but you can move documents, music, pictures etc... good luck!

Have you tried starting the computer in safe mode? (tap f8 key while booting) then run the spyware removal, anti virus programs there?. You might be able to drag/drop there too.
Something else that might work, is to d/l from www.ccleaner.com (can be saved to cd or thumb drive) then run it on the problem computer. This program is free and will clean up a lot of junk ( or junque if you prefer) on the drive. I have used it a couple of years now, and have seen other moderators recommend it.
    GOOD LUCK

Well yelling about it is useless, and if you take the hard drive out and install the hard drive into another computer on the secondary IDE cable as a slave drive when the other computer sees the drive you will be able to drag and drop any file on the hard drive to another media that you wish.

You may not be able to drag and drop or copy and paste on this computer but on another one you should be able to.

Once you have the data backed up from this hard drive you can restore it to the original computer and then do a clean install of your OS and re-install all of the programs and also restore the data you backed up to it.

Thanks for the advice Ozrom...sorry I wasn't yellin' ....just forgot that caps meant yelling online!!! LOL! So anyways...can you provide me with more detail? I have another pc I can do that with, but Im not really familiar with the whole 'Slave Drive' thing...and wont the Virus or Trojan still remain on the old HD? Or will the windows clean install get rid of it all??? Speaking of which how do you DO a clean install???? Sorry...still learnin'....

Here is some info on doing some of this:

    Connecting IDE Hard Drives

    http://www.mikeshardware.com/howtos/howto_connect_ide_hd.html

The Technology Info – Articles on Formatting, Fdisk & More

    http://technodata.blogspot.com

Microsoft KB - How to perform a clean boot in Windows XP =

If you need help actually doing any of these things I would suggest finding someone that has some knowledge of this in you area, possibly a computer user group might have a member that does this type of work and they are usually not that expensive. I know mine has a person that does this and he is not too expensive.
