Cheers Colin!
Of course you know Loch Lomond is celebrated in song, known world wide.
Glad to hear you're liking the US, I just hope you haven't lost your accent :)
RT,

Yes, I'm so proud of thinking our wee slice o' heaven is celebrated worldwide. In fact, when my wife was asked to sing at the funeral of a former university president, he chose "Danny Boy" and "The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond". The lump in my throat after she sang the first song grew to the size of a basketball when I thought of home.

I've been here over 18 years and haven't lost my accent. In fact, we joke to people that my wife made me sign a prenuptial agreement stating she could apply for a divorce if I ever lost it ;)

Do you now how the pick the trusted advisors and moderators ?
Yes... but it's a secret meeting of select current staffers that takes place in a dark forest with a blazing bonfire where offerings are made to certain ancient and mysterious deities of old.....

OK, just kidding you Daniel, no offense meant to anyone :)

I think this is how it goes... and this is MHO....
But before I go further, let me remind you that everyone here are volunteers, there are no agendas other than to help folks solve their problem.

Administrators, Moderators and Trusted Advisors are agreed upon by the current staff in a fair and democratic way. Knowledge and consistency of valid advice, presence on the boards, and demonstrated resolve to solve the problem plays a part.
The current staff meets at some point, and has the responsibility of choosing or voting for a member that might be nominated for a certain position.
And (I guess) they do other things I have no idea about.

Then that person is offered that "title," but it's up to them if they accept.
When I've spoken to some of the staff here, it generally comes as surprise to be offered such.
After all, they were just trying to help, on their own time.

Having said that, I do hope an Admin or Mod will chime in if and correct me if I'm mistaken here.

You see, this just one member talking to another...
and welcome aboard, btw!

Add a good bedside manner and that about sums it up in a nutshell Randy. :)
