    Hello everyone,

My name is Kathy and I recently got a new used computer. I need to rename the computer but I want to be sure that other things still work on the computer. Will it effect that? Please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Kathy

Shouldn't affect anything. I'm assuming you're talking about the network name? If you're talking about the login name, you can rename the account, but the old profile name will remain. It's possible to create a new profile and move stuff to the new profile. Tell us exactly what "name" we're dealing with here.

That's easy, just change the name. I do that all the time, no issue. :)

Right click on My Computer, Properties, Computer Name, Change button. Type in the new name, OK your way out and reboot. The computer will have a new name.
