has anyone heard of a virus whose name is "KB.EXE"? I got it a little bit ago from "[email protected]," and my virus-scanner (definitions updated last week) didn't see anything wrong. what it did was basically deny all access to the internet, just like that.
also, has anyone heard of a new round of virus attacks going around (starting denial of service on Wednesday), perhaps a new version of Blaster? a lot of big-time websites running slowly or not at all... suspicious.
    3) my modem says its running at 31.1 KB, but i'm only getting downloads at 300 or less bytes/sec. can anyone think of a reason for that to happen/way to fix?

    First Name:
go to http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.
