...a few days ago, my ability to click a link on various
web pages stopped working. The window appears to open
but nothing happens from there and I end up having to
close it. No settings were changed, it just stopped. Am
running IE6 with all updates and updated Java. Appreciate
any ideas. (example would be the MLB website where I
try to open Gameday link and nothing happens now.)
Thanks!!

The same thing has happened to me. If I open a link, an empty window opens. I can't even right-click on a link, and use the 'open in new window' option. It's really frustrating, I'm getting fed up with copying and pasting.

Quit all programs that are running.
Click Start, and then click Run.
Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.

I've already tried that, along with the other dll files, I think I got it from the Microsoft web site. Unfortunately it's still the same.

I'm a little wary of changing the registry, especially when the fix says, 'On the Edit menu, click Add Value', and I look on the view menu in my registry editor it doesn't have an' Add Value' option from the drop down. Any help would be most appreciated.

If you right click there on that screen you have the option to "Add Value"

i also have that problem and it's unresolved....!!!

i don't want to add to my registry either.. the instructions Microsoft give are a bit ambiguous for a non-expert....

i've cut my losses and am on Mozilla at present...which doesn't seem like home.. but at least it works !!

it hasnt fixed my problem BUT it has begun to fix another problem i have posted on this forum about incredimail !!!!!!!!! WOW.....i might be getting somewhere in understanding what has gone wrong.

my incredimail wouldn't load anymore but after the download you just told me about it starts to register me...(it's treating me like a new user cos ive reinstalled ) but the 'next' on the registration box is greyed out so i cant proceed.

i think i must be missing some important things on my comp...i don't kno why... and i have just replaced some.... the problem being finding out what else is missing!!

u r a star !!! :D
