newbie need help

    i need help with security and maintence i am running winxp i have installed adware i did have nototns systemworks 2003 but i t wasnt working so i took it off and now have AVG for my antivirus what else do i need to do?? i also have zonealarm as my firewall dont know much about that at this time any and all help welcome please.Heres my hijack list hope it helps post hereLogfile of HijackThis v1.97.3

    That's a clean log.

    I would recommend that you get SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard.

    Go here http://www.net-integration.net/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=38;t=3051 and you will find links to both of them plus some tips on tightening your security settings in IE.

    Be sure and take advantage of the "Immunize" feature in Spybot. The Immunize feature in Spybot used in conjunction with SpywareBlaster , SpywareGuard and weekly scans with Spybot and Adaware will go a long way toward keeping you free of many pests.
    Important!: ALWAYS check for updated detections and referencefiles before scanning with Spybot and Adaware. And be sure to check for updates to SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard on a weekly basis.

    thanks for the info do i need to worry about the registry or not and is AVG a good antivirus

    I've never used it but a lot of people here like it. From what I've heard and read it is good.
