the quicktime videos that I record on my Nikon Coolpix will not open up correctly or play correctly on my desktop or laptop. I have Windows XP on my desktop, Windows 7 on my laptop. I have the latest Quicktime on both computers. The movies from my older camera which also shot in .mov and seem to be the same size, open up and play just time. The .mov files from my newer camera open up larger than the desktop. I can then click on the full-size button in the upper right and it then changes to the correct size. It still won't play though. On my desktop, the movie picture freezes and there is only sound. On the laptop, the picture and sound skips and jumps, instead of playing smoothly. I have searched and searched online and cannot find any solution.

A little more info on the problem above: My usual movie format is HD1080p (1920x1080). I also tried HD 720p (1280x720) with the same results. When I tried VGA (640x480) they play fine. They are a much smaller file and not nearly as good a video.

Verify the actual format and specs used by the Camera. Just because the files are using the .mov extension, does not mean they are Quicktime spec files.
