I have been given an Optiplex gx1 500S and have loaded Win 98se. I have enabled the nic in the bios and the nic is being recognized at bootup. I assume that the NIC is part of the motherboard as there is a port for an ethernet connection (green & yellow lamps). The problem is that I cannot find an appropriate driver for the NIC. I cannot be sure, but I think that the NIC chip is 3Com. There are a gazillion 3Com drivers. Can anyone help???????????? Thanks in advance.
