Hey all. I recently had to fix my friends computer. After a quick check of her problems, i figured out it was the nimda virus that was the problem. so i downloaded the patch off the internet and it deleted the files. then i reinstalled word, excel, and the others that werent working. it fixed the problem. is there any threat that any leftovers from the virus may be lurking in her system somewhere, or is it safe to say it wont be any future problem?

Nimda moves over a network very easily, so if her computer is networked to another one, check it as well. You can also get it from a web site, so I would flush your temp internet files, and keep scanning the system for a while

If ur running ME you probably have it in your restore files also, and you can't touch those. Turn off restore, shutdown and restart to clear it out, then turn restore back on. At least that's what you have to do to get rid of sircam.
