No access to recovery partition after motherboard change

Contact lenovo. The way OEM type windows lic work is that the lic is valid with the original hardware OR the mfg designated replacement hardware. In any case, it should either have been activated for you or you should have been given a new key.
There is a slight difference between doing a clean install with the windows install usb and doing an install with the recovery partition. The recovery partition will have all of the drivers ie video, touchpad, sound, etc already installed [along with all of the mfg bloatware] When you clean install with the install usb, you will need to install these drivers yourself AND you only get the microsoft bloatware.

My guess is that when the service shop installed windows, what they actually did was restore an image. This would have wiped everything on the drive and created whatever partitions existed in the image file.
