2-3 weeks ago my PC would not bootup & my mind wrongly stuck to the opinion that the HDD failed.
The local branch of a national IT company offered to check it for free & was to pay for anything needed. The report was that the HDD was OK & all files were there.
Later I noticed the PSU fan was still & installed a new 750w PSU, the HDD was installed & the PC booted OK.
To my surprise I found the Desktop & Documents directories empty of any subdirectories or files, & they were all very sencitive stuf, email addresses, passwords, online banking etc.. Similarly in another partition a directory full of years accumulation of ultilities disappeard.
The sad thing though is that now I am bombarded with warnings from EBAY that people are trying to use my account, from Croydon, Barnet, Camden & BKM.GB from Milton keans, & others, not banking warnings yet.
Almost dayly I keep changing my passwords.
I do not dare mention these to the Shop as they've been helpfull to me over the years and cannot afford to loose them.
As for backups, I tried unsuxcessfully a few times with free Reflect, Easeus & the like.
