a few days ago, Windows Media Player stopped playing the audio from my DvDs and when I place DvDs in my rom I get an error message when windows media player default runs it, but I can manually start the DvDs through the 'Play' bar.

I thought it might have been my DvD Rom when I came home today to see that WMP wasn't even recognizing the drive, so i went and bought a new one, but this seems to have been a waste of money since I still get no audio from my DvDs.

I've tried many DvDs and even installed the latest version of WMP but still with no success. I've also run virus scans and found no infections.

Any ideas as to what this issue may be?
