How much memory in your machine? This is a serious problem and not due to the amount of memory you have since Windows should manage it even if too little.

Are you sure you are not referring to disk space? That has nothing to do with memory.

Please tell us how much system ram, video ram(and whether video adapter is standalone or integrated), empty disk space, and size of pagefile you have.

And have you updated to latest SP1?

You'll need a lot more than that. No single anti-malware comes even close to catching them all. Having 2 is the absolute minimum, but more is better.

    Try Spybot for starters.

Malware is just one possibility for now.

Since it seems to happen after running for a few minutes, it may be heat-related, too. Try opening your Task Manager and minimizing it. The next time the problem occurs, open it and see what is using the most CPU and memory (you may need to enable more columns under View for memory use). In other words, try to see if a single program is causing the problem.

okay but i have no idea how i would know which program is causing the problem or how to view more columns under memory use.

See if any app is using a high percentage of CPU. Under the View menu is "Select Columns". Add Working Memory column to the Task Manager.
