no ide cable

    keep getting "primary ide channel no 80 pin connector cable installed" on boot. everything seems to be working properly just takes about a minute to find ide's.
    what gives

    Howdy,

    Try re-seating the IDE cables on the motherboard and to the drives......if you still get the message replace the IDE cable or use a known working one.

    Probably means you are using an old 40 pin cable and those really should be replaced.
