I recently replaced a modem that wasn't working on an system running XP. I can now connect to the modem, and ping (though it looks unusually low), but I have no other internet connection. So far I've uninstalled all anti-virus and firewalls, checked if winsock2 is corrupt and booted in to safe mode with networking to see if there are any conflicts and it's still not connecting. Here some stats on the connection:

I apologize for the Italian, but I assume it should be pretty easy to understand what everything is regardless since it's all in the same position as when it's in english. If anything isn't clear, let me know. Is any additional information required to sort out this problem?
Thank you for any assistance that can be provided.
that looks like a good connection via the network LAN connection , and you are on the internet as you have a response from google.com
so if the machine is not allowing you to run a webpage , it maybe the firewall
What firewall / security suite or anti-virus do you currently have on the PC - or you have ever had on the PC in the past - any trial ware - like Norton, kaspersky or Mcafee or any free security suites like zonealarm, AVG , Webroot etc
Wow, I totally missed that as well, you mean there isn't a Google server located inside my modem? As I said, I thought the ping time was suspiciously low!
My results from ipconfig /all are there in the original quote:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ipconfig /all
Open Notepad - Start> Programs> Accessories> and right click on Notepad select "Run as Administrator" to open a notepad
Now goto 'File' > 'Open' and browse to the HOSTS file - which will be located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc. - you may need to change the drop down box next to the file name:box from Text Documents (*.txt) to ALL Files (*.*)
The file should look like the info at the bottom of this post
Now all you need to do is copy and paste those results into a reply here
to do that:
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Select all
all the text will now be highlighted
Next
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Copy
Now go back to the forum - goto the reply and then right click in the reply box and paste the results.
The results from the notepad should now appear in the forum reply.
Once you are finished, go up to 'File' and click 'Save'. Make sure to change the Save as Type: box to All files.
Otherwise, Notepad may add a .txt extension to the file which will keep it from working. If you don't have your system set to show extensions, it's easy to miss that.

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost
