okay so here goes, not being a pro I will explain as well as possible. I hae a small LAN with 9 computers, all with WIN98SE loaded and IE 6.0 The computer in question has two seperate NIC for a priate link to the accounting dept. That network works fine. The compter works fine on the main LAN, communicates with all others fine, however, will not connect to Internet or Outlook Express mail. Get a DNSSERVER error message then page not found.
Have checked and renewed all settings, IP & Gateway & DNS are all the same as other computers on the network, accept the last two in IP address of course. Today I uninstalled and replaced the NIC with a new one, with no change. I have reloaded WIN98 and 6.1 service pack. I have tried to load Mozilla as a test replacement and it won't connect either. Oh, we are on a 16 port hub with a Web Ramp router and a DSL connection. We have been on this network for 3 years with no problem. Okay, so, I am lost.
The only difference from the other settings on the network is in winipcfg the "Enable IP Routing" is checked, it isn't on any of the others.Keep in mind this computer is the one with two NIC and the secondary one has an assigned IP address, but has neer been aproblem before. Help, Help. With any responses, please speak in lay terms so I can understand. TIA
