every time I start up my computer the screen states no keyboard. I have to unplug ps/2 connection then reconnect hit f1 key and it starts. Some times it takes 2-3 trys. It also locks the mouse up. I have a ECS K7VMA motherboard, duron 750, 256meg ram, 64meg intergraded video. I'm thinking of a usb keyboard would that fix my problem

if you can borrow someone elses ps2 keyboard. also clean the shield on the ps2 connector. There could be a short in your keyboard cord. It is also possible that the solder joints that hold the ps2 connector in have came loose, which you would need to repair or try a usb keyboard.

Of course it could be some kind of driver problem too.
