    Hi there,

When turning on the computer and after the initial start up the computer did not come up with the usual login screen where i need to hit ctrl-alt-del and then put in my password, it just sits there with a blue screen. The hard drive light continues to flicker on occasionally, i can use the mouse and touch pad but the keyboard doesn't do anything.

I was surfing the net today and was at a torrent site (cant remember which one), and downloaded a small file. I didnt end up wanting it and deleted it without opening/runing (it was a zip or rar file), however my laptop is now acting up.

I tried doing a system restore from the week before without success, taken out the hard drive and tested with Smartfraudfix and AVG internet security without success.

Laptop is a Acer Extensa 5220 running XP Pro SP3 with Symantec virus protection.

    Any help would be appreciated
