I recently bought a very nice laptop, or so I thought. Now I'm not so sure. It's a Samsung laptop, it starts right up, and then it has a screen that says no operating system installed or partition corruption. Under that it says Press R to perform a full PC Recovery. He also gave me a Disc that has written on it Laptop Recovery DVD 1 of 3 . I clicked the R and it says it's preparing recovery partition. then it does that and goes onto the Recovery Disc and starts installing. But it only goes to 2 % and then stops. Any suggestions??

If it is still under warranty, then take it back to the store. The HD controller may be shot. Or it may be the HD.

    Hi,

Just go download MS Media Creation Tool. It will generate a Windows DVD or USB stick. Boot with that and do a Custom Install.

have never used it. I was not able to do anything on it. Okay, so I have theMedia Creation Tool on a DVD. And after the laptop gets charged, I am going to try and run it. well, it kicked out the dvd and is asking for the PC Recovery CD #1. I only have #1, don't know what happened to #2 or #3 Now it is running and has 2 folders up top and has papers going from one to the other. It says BASE_0001.inp from preload to preload and is at 1 % now and then it shuts off b4 it gets to 2 %

I can't get it to run. It will only got to 2% then it shuts down, so I don't know what to do. I went to HP recovery and read there and did what was said, turn it off, back on and hit escape key go bring up boot menu, I did that and a step then t went right back to the same screen telling me there was no operating system and to click r for a full recovery. back to shuts down at 2%

No, you run the Media Creation Tool from the PC. And slip a blank DVD in the DVD drive. MCT will write and create a Windows 10 disk.
