no operating system

    We have a Compaq notebook LTE Lite 4/25c we got it used it had win95, it had and error in the com port so I was playing with it I went into Setup I set the default configuration and now it says missing operating system. Is windows lost forever or is there something I can do to get runing again.

    You need to go back into setup and reconfigure the hard drive, find the ide configuration menu and either set it to autodetect, or manually detect the hard drive. Save settings and exit When done it should work.
