NO shut down

My computer will not shut down or reboot??? when i click it it just turns grey like it is gonna shut down but it just goes back to the regular screen and i cant shut down or restart. i have run norton utilities and it found 202 errors and i fixed all of them. please help me.

First off, have a look here:

Then, as you said you have found 202 error's, have you run Scandisk to see if thats okay?

Have you run an antivirus scan? The dimming of the screen and return to the desktop can be a symptom of the Mine trojan.

From start, run msconfig and look at the starting programs under the startup tab. If you see msdos98.exe or uninstallims.exe, that is the Mine trojan. You may also see one of these in the "close programs" window when you do a ctrl-alt-del.

If you have it, I'll dig up some repair instructions for you.
