I can’t get a signal from my computer to my monitor, I have built my own pc and I had this problem not too long ago and it had to do with the cpu, I knew it had to do with the cpu because my motherboard tells me if something isn’t working but this time it hasn’t said anything. I readded thermal paste to my cpu again, like i did last time but still nothing is happening. I believe my cpu is working because my mother isn’t telling me anything is wrong with it. All my motherboard is telling me is that there’s a problem with the VGA and everything else is working.

Hi Brooketbbb, and welcome to TSG.

I don't think anyone here can help you based on the very limited information you have given. Please provide a complete parts list for your custom computer build.

... I knew it had to do with the cpu because my motherboard tells me if something isn’t working but this time it hasn’t said anything.

You seem to be contradicting yourself here. Please clarify.

Yeah I’m sorry I didn’t go too in depth

Computer parts:

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z390-A

CPU: Intel Core i5-9600K Desktop

Processor 6 Cores up to 4.6 GHz Turbo Unlocked LGA1151 300 Series 95W

CPU cooler: Enermax ETS-T50

Case: Phanteks PH-EC300PTG_WT Eclipse P300 Tempered Glass Steel ATX Mid Tower Case White

DRAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15

Like I said earlier, I had this problem before and it had to with my CPU and all I did was take it out and reinstall it and it started working again, but this time my motherboard doesn’t detect anything wrong with any of the parts. It’s still turns on and everything seems to be working fine.

I just got a new monitor today and it still doesn’t work so I know it 100% has to with the computer itself.

Any suggestions at all would be very appreciated and if you need more information to help figure it out, please ask

Do all 4 of the Q-LEDs (Boot, VGA, DRAM, CPU) on the motherboard light up and shut off when you first power up?

Do you have a small speaker connected to the case speaker/buzzer header on the motherboard? Do you get any beeps on power up?

When you tested with two different monitors, did you use different HDMI cables for each monitor?
