Hi...
recently put together a system using a pcchips motherboard 848a rev 2.1 and have not been able to get the sound working. Volume controls up and nothing is muted. Periperal setup, audio device enabled. Device manager shows all devices and drivers working properly. Tried two different amplified speakers and neither work, from either the rear or front ports. Installed a separate audio card, Creative Labs and get no sound from this port either. Have tried the cd and dvd drives and audio files from the hard drive with no sound from either. Yet when I use a media player I am able to see the visualization of the audio...but no sound. Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

Wow the PcChips site looks identical to the ECS site except the name.

By budget you mean crap right? PCCHIPS, and ECS for that matter, are considered the bottom feeders in the industry. And for a good reason, they make low quality products that are poor performers and have high failure rates.

I was gonna say "Huh? The budget section of a low budget product?" I knew that they were both produced by the same parent company already, I was being a little fascecious(sp) by the comment.
