My problem is absolutely no sound. I go to settings -control panel-sound and audio device- audio -and is what I have is everything is grayed out and it says --No playback devices / no recording devices /no midi playback device. I dont know if this is enough info just let me know. I can research it more I am new to computers and yes I was probably messing around where I should not have been. thank you for your time I am just hoping it is just a flip of a switch. Bob184

    howdy and welcome.

What is the operating system? Can you go to start > run > type devmgmt.msc > enter > let us know if there are any yellow exclamation points in there.

    thanks,

    v

The yellow question mark is on the other devices and pci device ,but the pci device also has a yellow exclamation mark with the question mark.

    Hi bob184,

It sounds like you will need to install the appropriate driver for your sound card.

You should be able to get that from here.

For future reference, you can get most necessary drivers as well as support documentation from eMachines' Support site.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

After downloading the driver from the link above, install the driver and restart the computer.

    You should now have audio.
