Any help here would be much appreciated,

Since installing my webcam (USB) I no longer have any sound capabilities.

In system properties, my soundcard device (Yamaha OPL3-SAx WDM Driver) has an exclamation mark on it. In the properties for this device the device status says: "the NTKERN.VXD,MMDEVLDR.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2)"

I've tried updating the driver but this does not fix the problem, I'm at a complete loss!

    Any thoughts???

Hi and welcome. Have you tried removing it completely and allowing windows to reinstall it?

What operating system are you using and what IRQ is the soundcard and the USB host controller on?

Start button, run, then type msinfo32 and hit ok...go to hardware, IRQs, edit, select all, edit, copy and come back and paste.

It appears that the sound card is there.......usually if there is a problem with it, it won't show up on IRQs. Can you check device manager again to be sure there isn't a second entry?

Do you have the cdrom that came with it and/or the computer? Can you remove it again, DO NOT reboot, go to add new hardware, DO NOT allow Windows to find it.....do a manual install and say you have driver disk and go from there.
