Could you provide some additional information as to what you have tried in order to resolve the problem. For example.....

    • Have you tried using headphones ?
    • Have you investigated via the Sound utility in Control Panel ?
    • Have you checked the volume controls ?
    • Have you run a diagnostic in Device Manager ?

Unless we know what you have already attempted it is difficult to suggest a possible solution.

    T.

Yes to all the above but the Diagnostic test in Hardware. Can you explain how to run that?

You can buy some USB speakers. Laptops aren't know for their sound quality!;)

Right-click the white Microsoft flag, left of taskbar and then click Command prompt admin
    copy the cmd below
At the prompt, paste the copied cmd please

    Licensingdiag.exe -report %userprofile%\desktop\report.txt -log %userprofile%\desktop\repfiles.cab

After running the command, 2 files will appear on your desktop:

    report.txt

    repfiles.cab

Please open the report.txt file in Notepad.

    Copy-and-paste its entire contents here.

The repfiles.cab is only a backup file and can be ignored for the time being.

Okay I am confused. First you tell me to get speakers. then you are having me do all kinds of stuff..

My point above was, at least most of the computers I have owned the quality was pretty good. With the Toshiba it is the worst I have ever heard and it is very low.

So please explain what you are trying to have me do..

    Thanks

The posts regarding speakers, and other posts are from my colleague donetao.

    My posts are 7, 10 and 12.

Post 7 and the repeated request 10 were to enable me to identify the exact model of Toshiba you have. there are many variations of each model group.

This would have made the task of establishing the correct driver, for your laptop easier. There are many versions of audio chips on Toshiba laptops, even within the same generic model - Satellite for example

Post 12 provides a check on various aspects of windows

Hi! I have a Toshiba Satellite and my sound is decent. I have Realtek sound!!
Macboatmaster is probably right about the driver. USB speakers probably wouldn't help that much, but the driver would probably make a lot of difference. It would be worth trying!!
