One day sound. Next day no sound! I have tried everything:
No conflicts in Device Manger, volume controls not muted, reinstalled audio drivers, etc.
Even when I plug into the headphone jack...no sound!

    I have a HP 5350 laptop
    win 2000 professional

Could the sound card have died?

Do you have another one you can test? Or can you test that one on another machine?

If it matters: Windows2000 didn't come with the computer. I reformatted and out win2000 on it. Long before the sound went out though.
