No sound

    I have a windows 2000 prof. me I am not very experienced at pc use. i have lost all sound. my pc tells me i have no sound card. been using this pc for 6 months.always had sound then. is there a way to retrieve the sound. i have no startup disc for my pc.I bought it used a pawn shop without start up disc.

    The sound card could have died. :( or the drivers have gone bush. Go into the control panel>system>devicemanager and click on the + beside sound,video and game controllers see if it lists the name of your sound card( there will probably be a yellow ! or ? beside the device) then search through Google for the correct drivers. D/load the drivers to your desktop then go back into the device mgr and double click on the device and click update driver then point it to the file on your desktop. :)
