no soundcard found

I have a thinkpad 760cd laptop and am trying to run my media player on it, but I keep getting the error message "no sound card installed. " I am able to play my cd player and hear the music but I cannot use my media player

According to IBM's web site there is no sound card installed on this particular laptop.

Nope....and if you could it would cost you more than the laptop is worth.
