Yes I am running Outlook express 6
    ver.-6.002900.2180 (xox-spe-stm.040803-2158)
    Internet Explorer ver. 6.00.2900.2180 (xpsp-sp2-stm.040803-2158CO)
    cipher strenght: 128 bit
    update ver, SP2

Whenever I write a new message and try to use the spell check I get the error message. An error occurred while the spelling was being checked.
    Please help.

    Thanks for the reply.
I am using all of the programs that you mention, and spell check is working fine in all of them. Only have a problem in OutLook.

Can you clarify? Is the problem with Outlook or Outlook Express. And what does the error message say.

The problem is with Outlook Express 6, the error message reads as follows.
( An error occurred while the spelling was being checked.)

I would be tempted to download the alternative checker I mentioned earlier and give it a try. Its not a big download and you could uninstall it if you are not happy with it. It is not a MS product but has been made specifically for OE and pulls its weight fairly well.
