No Windows And No Dos

    I HAVE WINDOWS ME.MY CD DRIVES LIGHTS ARE BOTH ON AND WONT OPEN AND I CHANGED BATTERY. STILL NOTHING NOT EVEN DOS. THE COMPUTER IS POWERD, BUT THE MONITOR IS SEARCHING THE SETTINGS LIGHT MOVES BACK AND FORTH I DONT HEAR ANY BEEPS AND THERE IS NO DOS AND AT START IF I PRESS THE DELETE I CAN NOT EVEN ACCESS MY BIOS . I UNHOOKED MY DVD AND CHECKED ALL FANS POWER ETC AND ALL IS WELL WHAT COULD BE WRONG?
    IT ISNT A NEW PC IT HAD BEEN UP AND RUNNING A YR AND 1/2
    SO IT COULDNT BE PHYSICALLY HOOKED UP WRONG ANY MORE SUGGESTIONS?

    Did you check your hard drive as well?. It sound like a hardware problem, I hope someone can help you in this forum

    Is this a newly built pc ? Try reseating all the connections first like your harddrive , ram, sound, video and any other expansion cards you may have.

    Both lights on solid looks like you have one or both of the IDE connections in backwards. The stripe on the cable normally is toward the power connector on the optical drives. Also, on the MB, pin 1 should be identified, and the stripe goes to pin 1.

    what could be the problem here. I have accually been inside my win 95 98 me trying to figure what went wrong,. i reseated all hardware cleaned out everything checked all conections but still no beep bios or dos . maybee some kind of a suspended or sleep state or something any suggestions?

    I think you need to start in DOS.
    Use a boot disk.

    thankyou everyone for trying to help I finally gave up myself and called systemax. they said with no post beeps I need to send the tower back to them for repairs. I will always use this forum and will tell all my other computer freaks about this place,. forget about me ever using the experts.com again ! thankyou
