I just got an ASUS AAM 6020VI (802.11g Wireless with 4-Port ADSL2 + Router) and cannot figure out how to "turn on" the wireless feature. All previous modems I've owned had an "on" button or wasn't very difficult to figure out. I don't even know where to begin, there's just so many settings.

My last ISP was the WiFi Hotspot from Sprint so I know my Wireless Network Adapter is up to date and working properly, and I can see the other 4 networks "available" from my neighbors.

The problem would seem to be in your router if you can see other networks but not your own. Open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.1 into the URL box then hit Enter. That brings you to the router's settings pages and invites you to log in. The router's instruction manual tells you the login details and once you're in, look for Wireless settings and you will probably see on that says the SSID (network name) is hidden. Change that to Broadcast, save or apply the change and log out.

Your wireless chips should now be able to see your network.

    heres the user manual
    ftp://dlsvr02.asus.com/pub/ASUS/comm/ADSL/AAM6020VI-T4_manual.pdf
section 4 page 11 tells you how to log in to the router
page 31 show you how to set up the wireless
by default the wireless is active and so you should see the default wireless SSID "“ADSL_Wireless"

if you find it is enabled and still cannot see it - post back an xirrus screen shot

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    {run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector} Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC

    http://www.xirrus.com/library/wifitools.php
Direct link to the program is here http://www.xirrus.com/library/wifi_download_redirect.php
Then run and install the program
if you get an error - You need NET Framework installed for the WiFi Inspector to function.

    Run the program

post a screen shot of the program running - if there are a lot of networks showing can you click on "networks" top lefthand area - so we can see all the network information, and also post which network "Adapter Name" (1st column) is yours on the list

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file.
To upload it to the forum, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.
