I just recently had a nasty virus on my computer (a windows XP laptop) that seemingly wiped out my entire computer (i really hope not), so I cant open ANY files, all of my files are empty and there is NOTHING on my desktop. I first installed Malewarebytes which wouldnt open, then I installed Spybot, which got rid of alot of things but nothing seems to be fixed, then I installed trojan killer which wouldnt open. I since uninstalled all three programs and installed kaspersky which is still "loading" 3 hours after i installed it. This is my second time installing it. When I try to open any of these programs a window pops up saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." The initial virus was called something like Security Protection and Spybot seemed to have gotten rid of the initial problems but i still cant do anything on my computer. Please please please help me and if you need any additional information i will try to give you the best i can, im really not that computer savvy so please be patient with me.
