I used Norton 9.0 to make a copy of my C: drive - everything seemed to go well (no error messaged)....but now the E: drive has vanished. C: and D: are on the old physical drive that is partitioned...and E: and F: are on a new physical drive that is partitioned. I can see F:, but not E:. I booted in dos mode to perform the fdsk mbr as suggested on the the Symantics website (and elsewhere)....but I cannot access E: from the dos prompt either...

Anyone have any ideas? I keep thinking this cannot be an isolated instance of this happening.

Thanks!

Aha....fixed this myself. Norton simply removed the drive label....so could not see it. I renamed the drive using windows disk management. (path - control panel - administration tools - computer mangement - storage - disk manager).

Once renamed, my system went into check disk when I rebooted and truncated all of the files (??what does this mean?? ), so I slicked the newly copied drive and I will try again today.

Anyone familiar with Norton Ghost 9.0? Is there something that I should watch for (do, not do) when ghosting the old drive to the new?
