What version are you using?

Do you ever see any errors during LiveUpdate?
You see the list of updates, watch them download, and then install?

I'd like to find out what causing your problem but you can also try downloading the file from <a href="http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/defs.download.html">here</a>.

thanks for the quick response.
I have norton AV 5.0.
I'm able to d/l all the updates without a problem and load them.
But it still shows 7/12/99.
I'm still trying to find my live update version.

Here's a long shot because I'm not sure how it really checks for updates, but is the date on your computer correct?

Okay

You have SystemWorks with Norton AntiVirus 2002 8.x for Windows 2000/NT/Me/98/XP.

Well, I have found this

http://service2.symantec.com/SUPPOR..._solve_lu.html&sone=nav_2002_tasks.html&tpre=

And it says:

1. Run LiveUpdate and download program updates.
2. Run LiveUpdate again until no more program updates are available.
3. Download and install the file Lrsetup.exe.
4. Run LiveUpdate again and download the remaining updates
I know that you say they are being downloaded ok, but they're not being installed correctly. This may due to the LiveUpdate.

I know you are. Its part of System Works.

Going to Norton's site, they don't seem to have Norton AV 5 on its own. They have 7 on its own, but then you may have an older copy.

Its Probably being packaged into System works now. The fix will still work, its the same for most versions.

Thanks Tony. I'll try that.
I keep downloading the same files but nothing happens. It's worth a try.

I end up dpwnloading the same file over and over again.

Anything else you can suggest?

And that's with the updated LiveUpdate? hmmmmm....

The one that Tony gave was in depth. Did you go as far as uninstalling Norton?

Isn't NAV one of the more difficult programs to uninstall since it leaves a lot of unwanted files behind?
Isn't it bad for my system?
If it isn't then I'll try it.
Thanks again.

Hiya

As for the uninstalling and the removing of unwanted files, you're just doing what Tony's link said. It says to Delete the \VirusDefs folder. Have you not tried his link yet? Completly uninstalling it isn't what you will be doing here.

if it still dosen't work after Tony's link, then we'll think about uninstalling fully.
