I can't seem to turn my Norton Antivirus on. I have run a virus check and none are detected. The message I get is NMAIN has caused an error in NMAIN.EXE and closes with the next box saying an unhandled exception has created an error in OxC0000005. Is there some source I'm missing? tried to contact Nortona and it was NO help

Hiya and Welcome

What is your OS and version of Norton? Has this just happened or is this a new install?

When you say norton was no help what do you mean ?

If you goto www.symantec.com and click on search towards the bottom left of the screen, enter NMAIN.EXE in the search box and click search, you are presented with a list of articles the very first is this one http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...b203b7afdf93d85b88256a85007ca58f?OpenDocument

If that doesn't help then go here http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nav/nav2001_search_update.html and enter nmain to search the knowledge base.

Finally, if all else fails go here http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/cg...e=nav&miniver=nav2001&browse.x=26&browse.y=15 and enter nmain in the search box on the next page and click search.

I'm sure with a little research you'll find your answer.
