    Hi,
I put Norton Firewall on my pc about 7 few weeks ago, and was well impressed at the number of attempts to put trojans on my pc that were blocked. But over the past few weeks there has been nothing whatsoever. Is this usual? or have the people trying, found a way around it?
    Thanks,
    Gus.

    Hiya

People don't put trojans on when they attack the firewall. What they are looking for are people without firewalls, that may have a trojan residing on their system. All they need to know is the port number and a password.
However, DOS attacks, Denial of Service, are different. These are the ones that can shut a system down. Like the one that hit here.

What I would do, if you're worried, is go here www.grc.com and click on Test My Shields and Probe My Ports.

Also, keep your virus scanner uptodate, and scan reularily.

    Regards

    eddie

    Hi eddy,
I tried shields up and they were satisfied that there was no way in to my pc. The message I used to get was about the back door sub seven, so I thought they were using this to try to gain access.
Anyway thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.
    Cheers now,
    Gus.
