My computer has an 80GB hard drive. I have an external hard drive of 250GB. The computer's hard drive is about 40% full. But when I make a Norton Ghost mirror image of it, the external hard drive shows 90% full. Do mirror images take up that much more room?

If you do a clone, it's the size of the original partition. If you create an image file, it's a compressed image of the active part of the disk, and for that disk should be in the 20 gig size range. How big is the image file?
