    I am having a real problem with NIS. It worked find initially but after purging my computer and reinstalling the program it no longer works. The program downloads, but when I click on the icon on my desktop nothing happens. I have been trying to fix this by searching for answers and talking with Norton help but all that I have tried has failed... Please help! I feel so vulnerable with my NIS working!! :(

    Might be a good idea to get a free AV, if only to cover you while you try to 'fix' NIS.

    Various possibilities occur to me if you are using a downloaded version;

    1. How long since the first d/l? I think it will stop working if you try more than 60 days afterwards (unless you paid extra to extend the period).

    2. Was the authentication/registration process OK after the first install?

    3. Any error message when the second install attempt fails?

    Depending on what you mean by 'purging' your computer, it may be that some debris from the first install are left behind and that could prevent the second attempt. Have a look at this Symantec KB article;http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...56eda0045925b&dtype=&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl=
