Norton internet security

    Just installed internet security 2006. Now getting problems when running live update. Says windows cannot find LUALL.exe. Any ideas please?

    Check the norton website FAQ or do a Google search for something like "windows cannot find LUALL.exe" and you should find information on how to manually correct the problem. Also Norton is good and causing problems like this so if you can I would recommend going with a different security suite such as Zone Alarm Security Suite 6.5

    Searching 'cannot find luall.exe' in the Symantec Knowledgebase doesn't produce much in the way of helpful results.

    There is one article that suggests that replacing the Live Update files could fix some problems with luall.exe, but the error message is nothing like yours; http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...88256c8d00608e5e?OpenDocument&src=bar_sch_nam

    If you don't get any more helpful suggestions, updating your LU version might help and it probably wouldn't do any harm. You can check your current version of LU (if you can) by doing one of the following;

    " There are two ways to determine the version of LiveUpdate that
    you have installed.

    1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the file luall.exe. This file is
    usually located in the LiveUpdate client installation folder
    (\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate). Right-click on LUAll.exe, and
    then select Properties. Click the Version tab to see the File version

    2. Run LiveUpdate, click on Options in the top left-hand
    corner of the LiveUpdate dialog, and then select
    "About LiveUpdate". The full product version is listed.

    You may also right-click on any of the LiveUpdate executable files
    (*.exe, *.dll) in the LiveUpdate folder and select the "Digital
    Signatures" tab to view the Symantec Digital Signature on the files."
