I've Nortons Internet Security 2005 installed on XP run machine with sp2 and using Outlook Express 6.

My problem is although I have turned off 'scan outgoing Emails' in Nortons AntiVirus and restarted my PC and then send Emails. Nortons still scans the outging Emails, when its told not to.

Any tips how to correct this ?? ;)

Did you close Outlook Express afterwards, then reboot?

I turned off Express before setting Nortons not to scan, then restarted the PC.

But when Emails are sent, Nortons still checks them although the box is still unchecked and set to permanently not to check.

Are you sure it isn't scanning email attachments?

    It scans Emails and Attachments.
I can switch on or off scanning outgoing Emails.
I can't get access to the box to turn off scanning attachments, its greyed out.

When outgoing email scan is unchecked, it automatically greys out the attachment. That is probably by design.

Again, have you tried just sending a simple text email without attachments to see if the outgoing still scans?

Yes it still scans a simple text message without attachment.

I have asked someone else to have a look, I can't duplicate your problem, and I'm using Norton 2004 AV.
