I have XP installed on my PC and wanted to install it on my laptop. I called MS to activate it and was told that the license did not allow me install it on two machines.

I can't believe this. Any comments?

Did you read the license that came with Windows XP? This should have been stated there. Actually, you can't legally install any Microsoft operating system on more than one computer. Windows XP is just the first operating system that actually prevents it. There have been hundreds of articles and discussions regarding Microsoft's new activation policy.
