is there an exclamation point next to the adapter in device manager?

internal nic or pcmcia card?

wireless router or modem?

does other equipment connect wireless?

"working properly" in dm can still be a problem.

it's probably the card, controller issue.

remove the adapter in dm if you have the software to install it, reboot and see if the card is id'd/installed correctly.

can you connect by ethernet cable on the laptop?

I've tried two different cards.. Both don't connect to the internet, they have no problem seeing and connecting to the wireless router..
