my internet was working fine until today....firstly i cudnt connect with my cable and then the wireless worked for sometime but l8r even that stopped working....dunno why....i think i'm gettin connected to another network but how do i stop from gettin connected to another network??

precisely this is what happens when i try to connect to the internet via wireless....."The computer is connected to Home's Network but does not have access to internet"
whereas if i try from a different computer i'm able to access internet

Go to CONTROL PANEL and Wireless Configuration Utility. Do you see more than one network in the list? Remove all of them except for your own.

Try resetting the router, a 30 second power cycle will do the trick.

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows Vista.

Start, Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

    Reboot the machine.
