    hey guys

i'm havin some problems with my USB ports.

    comp info: intel duo core
    WinXP SP2
    1.8 GHz
    1GB RAM
    80GB HD

ok, so my computer isn't recognizing certain devices. it recognizes my external hard drive, my webcam, and mouse. but it doesn't recognize my ipod or digital camera. i desperately need it to recognize my camera because i need those pictures for my work.

the computer recognizes that something is connected, but it shows as an unknown device. i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the ports, but to no avail. any ideas?

try the camera/ipod in a different usb slot.

either the slot or device may be bad.

i've tried everything on the iPod support site but no luck

i believe it's a problem with the computer. while working at motorola, i had the same problem with my external hard drive. they said it was a hardware issue and had the laptop replaced. thing is, my external hard drive works fine this time. it's only the digital camera and ipod that are getting screwy.
