    Hello

I have a Windows XP Toshiba Sattilite, model is in the 1400s somewhere if that is any help. But about a week ago the computer woudln't recognise the power source.

Here's the story, if you take the battery out and unplug it, you get no power. If you use just the battery it is fine and dandy, but if plug it in and put the battery in, it doesen't say that it is plugged in, but it still works even though the battery is dead. And if you take the battery out and plug it in it still works but it either says it is running from an unknown source and unkown battery life reamianing or it says 0% battery remaing, please change to a power outlet or swich batteries imeaditly.

And, whenever you reboot it it goes into hibernate halfway through.

    Please Help

    Don

Chances are that you need a calibration utility that will drain your battery and reset the power monitoring software to recognize the battery's state. Check Toshiba's site.
